About Our apprenticeships

Who can be a YBS Apprentice?

For us, there's no such thing as a typical apprentice. You could be just out of school, looking to change your career, newly graduated and looking for something different or just out of retirement. There's no average age. No average background. No experience required.

Everyone has their own unique talent and with this we'll help you find a path that is right for you – with help from our existing apprentices.

Here at YBSG – we have carefully selected our apprenticeships to ensure that ALL of our schemes are new ‘trailblazer' standards.

We can provide recognised professional qualifications in addition to your apprenticeship for all of our positions.

With a number of brands and a comprehensive array of services, there are more apprenticeship opportunities on offer here than you might imagine. So, whether you want to interact with our customers, get ahead in IT, support other colleagues through a variety of head office roles or develop our campaigns within our marketing team, there could be a job to suit you.

What's more, with tailor-made development plans across the group, you can take your career as far as you want to and we are looking to offer apprenticeships up to Degree level to support this.

Frequently Asked Questions

We pay all our apprentices above living wage. So you'll start on £15,500 with salary increases in place to ensure that you are on the same salary as a non-apprentice once you've finished.
All of our apprentices work 35 hours per week. Our opening hours are Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. Depending on your apprenticeship, your start and finish times will vary depdendant on your role. This may include shift patterns between our opening times and include Saturdays on a rotation basis.
Your paid annual holiday entitlement is 32 days per year. This includes public and bank holidays. This starts at the beginning of the month after you join us.

We treat every application on an individual basis, but typically you would need the following in order to apply for one of our apprenticeship positions.

Level 3 and 4 Apprenticeships
Minimum of 5 GCSEs or Equivalent – Maths and English level A-C

Level 5 -7 Apprenticeships
For these apprenticeships we would be looking for someone who is educated to A Level Standard or Equivalent

We recruit all our apprentices on a permanent contract. That means you get all of the same benefits as a non-apprentice right from the start. At the end of your apprenticeship, you will change contracts to reflect your new role in the Group.

We very much see apprenticeships supporting the development of our colleagues throughout the Group. So whether you're starting out in your career or developing your career as an existing member of the team, we have various apprenticeships in place to be able to support moving roles or progressing through leadership and management.
